Tropical Storm Hanna Preparations
Schedule Set for Port Operations
North Carolina State Port facilities at Charlotte, Morehead City and Wilmington continue working to secure the terminals in preparation for Tropical Storm Hanna, while performing normal business operations this morning.
As of noon Friday, September 5, both Ports and the Charlotte Inland Terminal will be closed to commercial traffic and all non-emergency Ports Authority employees will be released.
As soon as conditions permit, the Ports Authority intends to resume normal business operations. The U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will determine the navigability and safety of waterways, and the resumption of vessel traffic at the ports. For complete information about the effects of the storm's progress ont Ports operations, see the special weather information here.
